Nick Boroevich

Nick completed his undergraduate degree in the Department of Natural Resource Sciences. He spent the summer of 2025 assisting Johanna Stewart with her study of garter snakes in the Northwest Territories. As part of that work, Nick set up a network of Automated Recording Units (ARUs) to conduct a survey for frogs inhabiting ponds scattered across the northern (and often burnt) landscape. He analysed that data for his Honours thesis. showing that frogs could still be detected across the burnt landscape.

Nick’s study area overlapped with the territories of the Fort Smith Metis Association, Salt River First Nation, and Smith’s Landing First Nation.
