Veronica finished her BSc at the University of Toronto and then conducted her MSc thesis research in our group. She monitored the reintroduction of snakes into a disturbed denning area, with a focus on attempts to create new hibernating sites for the animals. She worked with all of ‘The Big Three’: the Western Racer (pictured), Great Basin Gopher Snake, and Western Rattlesnake. Her work was tightly linked to that being conducted at the same time by Lily Ragsdale. Support for the project was provided by the Trans-Mountain Corporation and MITACs, and Dr. Leigh Anne Isaac sat as Co-Supervisor on the thesis. Veronica has moved on to start PhD studies at the University of Guelph.
